Description

Canonical has created a new supervisord replacement that would likely function better as a process manager for our products. I would like to try it out in practice with some products to see if it both functions as a direct replacement and if it can streamline some other workarounds we currently make when containerizing products.

Research direction

Start by identifying the downstream products and containerization workarounds this investigation should cover, since the issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Try pebble as a supervisord replacement in representative products and compare behavior and workaround complexity; done means documenting whether it works across the selected products and what can be streamlined.
