Research direction
Start by reproducing the invalid-URL error with a PostgreSQL password containing a backslash, using the connection URL described in the issue. Trace the connection URL parsing entry point and compare it with credentials that contain ordinary characters. Done means a backslash password is accepted as a valid URL credential without breaking connection handling.
