Similar to what's done in Including Plotly Figures in Hugo Posts.

Could that be added to the saveas option?

Research direction

Start by locating the MATLAB library's saveas option and the existing graph-export paths. Compare the current export behavior with the requested JSON representation for embedding in a static web page, then verify that the new option produces usable JSON without breaking existing formats.
