Description

Cross-post from https://github.com/sphinx-gallery/sphinx-gallery/issues/1394, as they asked me to post here.

TL;DR: Plotly figures in sphinx-gallery are cropped, but resizing the window makes them display correctly again. It appears to be a question of "CSS tweaks".

Research direction

Start by reproducing the cropping in the sphinx-gallery examples and compare the display before and after resizing the window. Investigate the CSS affecting Plotly figures, using the linked sphinx-gallery issue as context. Done means the figures display fully without requiring a window resize.
