Description

Using the fill tozeroy on a Scattergl fills to a minima, rather than zero. No such issue is present in Scatter.

The issue was found with Python using Plotly version 4.14.1 and is present in both Chrome and Edge. The following code is able to reproduce the issue:

import plotly.graph_objects as go

def squared(x):
    return x**2

x = list(range(-5, 5))
y = [squared(i)-3 for i in x]

fig = go.Figure(
    go.Scattergl(
        x=x,
        y=y,
        fill='tozeroy'
    )
)

fig.show()

Research direction

Start by running the provided Python reproduction with Plotly 4.14.1 and compare Scattergl with Scatter in Chrome or Edge. Trace the Scattergl rendering path for fill='tozeroy'; done means the filled region reaches y=0 rather than the data minimum.
