Description

Zooming on an orthographic surface plot in Plotly is nearly useless—the reaction of the computer is extremely sensitive to scrolling action. I am using two-finger scrolling on the trackpad of a MacBook Pro with M1 Pro processor in Firefox 110.0.1 and presumably the latest version of Plotly c. March 2023. Zooming on a perspective plot is still weird but useful.

Research direction

No source file, test, or entry point is named. Start by reproducing an orthographic surface plot in Plotly with two-finger scrolling on a MacBook trackpad in Firefox, then compare its zoom sensitivity with a perspective plot; done means orthographic scrolling is usable without the extreme sensitivity described.
