Description

So that something like

plot_ly(mpg) %>%
  add_splom()

Would do:

plot_ly(
    mpg,
    type = 'splom',
    dimensions = list(
      list(values = ~displ, label = "displ"),
      list(values = ~year, label = "year"),
      list(values = ~cyl, label = "cyl"),
      list(values = ~cty, label = "cty"),
      list(values = ~hwy, label = "hwy")
    )
  )

Research direction

Start at the add_splom() entry point and compare its behavior with the provided plot_ly(mpg) and explicit dimensions examples. Done means add_splom() routes every numeric column in the data to a labeled dimension equivalent to the shown output.
