Description

Hello,

I didn’t find anything for doing this with PlayCanvas. I would like to have on UI and Sprites :

  • filters : blur, color matrix, pixelate, outline…
  • blend mode : additive, multiplicative etc.

Something similar to what PixiJS offers https://pixijs.io/examples/#/filters-basic/blur.js

Being able to blur/outline sprite or UI is often a must have.

Would it be easy to add this using UI/Sprite materials?

Research direction

Start by reviewing the engine’s UI and Sprite materials, then compare the requested behavior with the linked PixiJS filters example. Define the scope for blur, color matrix, pixelate, outline, and blend modes across UI and sprites; done means the supported effects work on both requested targets.
