Description
Users tend to miss that it's only favorite branches that are listed by default in the view
A split view will make this easier to use and is clearer that there could be more branches not visible in the list yet:

Research direction
Use the issue description and attached screenshot as the reference for the branch-list UI. Determine how the current favorites-only view is represented and define the split view so favorite branches remain visible while other branches are clearly discoverable; done means the resulting layout matches the intended behavior shown in the screenshot.
