Description
.pio files store assembly programs for the RP2040's programmable I/O state machine, e.g. per this example.
WizIO's platform has support for these files by converting them to .h files per the pioasm tool, as documented and programmed here.

Research direction
Start by reading the referenced WizIO builder/pioasm.py implementation and the Raspberry Pi SDK pioasm tool documentation. Then inspect the platform's build integration to determine where .pio inputs should be handled. Done means .pio assembly files are converted to usable .h files during the platform build, consistent with the linked example.
