Description
Before submitting
- I searched existing issues and did not find a duplicate.
- I included enough detail to reproduce or investigate the problem.
Area
Not sure
Steps to reproduce
- Log out of Claude Code
- Prompt Claude in the GUI (your prompt will appear to disappear into the aether)
- Log in to Claude Code
- Prompt in the same thread again
- Your first prompt will be used but invisible
This is an issue when you get logged out of Claude for whatever reason
Expected behavior
The first prompt should be visible regardless of if logged in to Claude and should stay so.
Actual behavior
The first prompt is not visible - instead it is just the warning that I ought to log in to Claude.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the logged-out prompt flow in the GUI, then trace how the prompt is stored and rendered alongside the login warning. Done means the initial prompt remains visible after submission while logged out and is still present when the user logs in and continues the thread.
