Description
The manual page: https://php.net/reference.pcre.pattern.modifiers documents the "X (PCRE_EXTRA)" modifier. However, the page https://www.php.net/manual/en/migration80.incompatible.php says this is no longer true:
"Regular Expressions (Perl-Compatible) When passing invalid escape sequences they are no longer interpreted as literals. This behavior previously required the X modifier – which is now ignored."

Research direction
Compare the X (PCRE_EXTRA) description in reference.pcre.pattern.modifiers with the regular-expression note in migration80.incompatible.php. Verify the documented PHP 8.0 behavior, then update the conflicting wording so the two manual pages agree; done means the modifier documentation no longer claims that X is required.
