Description

Description

The following code:

<?php
var_dump(parse_url('www.j-p.pl'));

Resulted in this output:
array(1) {
["path"]=>
string(10) "www.j-p.pl"
}

But I expected this output instead:
array(1) {
["host"]=>
string(10) "www.j-p.pl"
}

PHP Version

PHP 8.1.4

Operating System

Windows 10

Research direction

Start with the parse_url documentation and its existing description or examples for URLs without a scheme. Compare them with the reported PHP 8.1.4 output for www.j-p.pl; done means the documentation clearly explains that this input is parsed as a path rather than a host, or otherwise states the expected behavior.
