Description
I was sad to find 2.4.0 removed pages/blank.html and replaced it with a hosted page.
I may be alone here, but I personally don't like the idea of github being notified every time I open a tab. There's also a chance of the hosted newtab page getting compromised, etc.
In the meantime, I've set my newtab page to moz-extension://[uuid]/pages/command_listing.html, which works, but is kind of suboptimal.
Please reinstate pages/blank.html. It was very useful.

Research direction
Start by inspecting the extension's pages/ directory and compare the removed pages/blank.html with pages/command_listing.html, which the issue identifies as the current workaround. Restore a local blank new-tab page and verify that it can be selected and opened without using the hosted page.
