Description

Describe the bug

I use Brave on MacOS and recently I've started experiencing that pressing x closes the current tab in another window. I don't think I've observed it on Windows.

It doesn't always happen, but quite often. Alt-tab back and forth most often solves it, but by then the damage is done.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open tabs in multiple Windows
  2. Choose a tab and click x
  3. See that a tab in the other window is closed

Browser and Vimium version

Browser: 1.84.141 Chromium: 142.0.7444.176 (Official Build) (arm64)
Vimium: 2.3.1

Research direction

Start by reproducing the issue on macOS with tabs in multiple browser windows, following the listed steps and checking whether pressing x closes a tab in the other window. Trace the tab-close handling from that interaction and verify that only the active window's current tab closes; repeat the reproduction steps to confirm the fix.
