Description

When you are selecting links using the f command, the link hints sometimes hides a bit much of the link text. This is especially problematic if you have activated the option Use the link's name and characters for link-hint filtering.

It would be great if it at that point would be possible to hide the hint temporarily. https://github.com/brookhong/Surfingkeys has this feature: While pressing space the hints are hidden.

Research direction

Start by tracing the f command and the link-hint filtering behavior in Vimium, then use the linked Surfingkeys behavior as a reference. Done means link hints are temporarily hidden while space is pressed and reappear when it is released.
