Description

Often user needs to edit beginning of the URL (not protocol!)
It would be neat to show protocol as a static prefix, or hide and re-use it unless user specify another one.

Research direction
Start with Vimium’s Omnibar URL-editing flow and inspect how the current URL and protocol are presented for editing. Clarify whether the protocol should be hidden or shown as a static prefix, then verify that editing the URL beginning works while explicitly entered protocol changes remain possible.
