Description
In order to authenticate via API key, we need to add the email address as HTTP header. If that email address contains a special character, there might be problems authenticating.
We should:
- check if that is handled by axios
- write a test to verify that it will work in the future (e.g. when we remove axios #80)

Research direction
Start by tracing the API-key authentication path where the email address is added as an HTTP header, then verify how Axios handles special characters. Add a regression test covering a special-character email and confirm it will continue to pass if Axios is removed.
