Description

I suggest to create a similar property to default, but that actually sets the content of the field so the user can modify it.

Research direction

Locate the field components and inspect how the existing default property is implemented. Trace how initial field content is set and determine the expected behavior for pre-existing text; done means a field can expose that content for editing without requiring it to be retyped.
