Description

Feature / Enhancement Description

Node18 has altered the resolution for localhost, now defaulting to IPV6. However, examining the internal code, I noticed that many parts are still using 127.0.0.1. Can we adapt to this modification made by Node18?

Research direction

Start by reviewing the internal code paths that use 127.0.0.1 and checking how Node 18 resolves localhost, including the affected server tests if present. Done means the relevant localhost flows work with Node 18's IPv6 resolution without breaking existing loopback behavior.
