[Deployment] Serverless: AWS Lambda

About

We would like omniload to provide excellent ergonomics when deploying to managed cloud environments. Let's start by using AWS Lambda to run a one-off task with omniload as payload, provisioned using an infrastructure-as-code utility like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or cottonformation.

Tests

We would like to be able to automatically test this end-to-end on both our workstations and on an off-the-shelf CI environment, optimally GitHub Actions. For emulating AWS Lambda, let's use Floci, it also works well on GHA.

Documentation

The feature/outcome should be documented well and easy for users to follow and exercise. Currently, there is no corresponding place in the documentation, so let's start a new section install/managed/, to bundle all information about installation on managed infrastructure?

Distribution

Is there some form of AWS Lambda package registry, marketplace, or community which curates best-practice recipes? awesome-lambda lists on GitHub maybe?

No implementation files or existing tests are identified in the issue. Start by surveying the deployment and documentation structure, then determine how AWS Lambda packaging, infrastructure as code, Floci-based emulation, and GitHub Actions testing should fit together. Done means a documented managed-installation section, an end-to-end Lambda path, and repeatable local and CI tests.
