Description
I found that my incremental rebuilds of Nexus tests seemed to be getting long (1m40s just now). I'm going to put some data in this issue but otherwise I'm not actively working on this.

Research direction
The issue names only incremental rebuilds of Nexus tests and reports a 1m40s rebuild time; no files, tests, or entry point are specified. Start by reproducing and measuring the reported rebuild, then collect the data mentioned in the issue. Done is not defined beyond investigating the slow rebuilds.
