Description
As part of debugging stlouis#912, we're wondering if perhaps the SP is sending more data to the host is supported via the IPCC protocol at the moment. It would be neat if we could see the response size in the ringbuf.

Research direction
Start by locating the host_sp_comms ringbuf implementation and reading the IPCC protocol handling around response construction. Check stlouis#912 for the debugging context, then determine how response size is represented in the ringbuf; done means the ringbuf exposes that size for inspection without changing the protocol behavior.
