Description

Customer asked why a 16 gimlet sled did not show as 2048 vCPUs on the utilization page. This page shows utilization of quotas assigned vs utilization of total existing.

Discussion uncovered that this is a common confusion. Might be worth more clarification.

Research direction

Start at the utilization page and trace how it presents assigned quotas versus total existing capacity. Confirm how physical capacity is represented for a 16 gimlet sled, then make the page show that capacity alongside quotas and clearly distinguish the two values.
