Description

I have a LaTeX template which requires XeLaTeX to compile, but the service uses pdfLaTeX by default, which causes the service hang on high CPU usage for a long time (and I didn't see it going to stop). This automatically happens when I upload a template, then it compile it with pdfLaTeX automatically.

Research direction

The issue names no file, test, or entry point. Start by reviewing the toolkit's configuration documentation and compiler-selection behavior for uploaded templates. Done means establishing whether XeLaTeX can be selected instead of pdfLaTeX and documenting or implementing the supported configuration path.
