Description

Hello,

The images on the website https://organicmaps.app/ are in English only, so users who do not speak English cannot see the application in their language with real images before downloading and using it. It is peculiar that while the site is translated to convey a good image of the application in the user’s language, there are no real images of the application available in those languages.

Regarding screenshots, users can retake them in their desired languages on their devices, mimicking the style used for English screenshots. This should be done with the latest Android application and OS. Then, users can start a pull request to add these images to the organicmaps/organicmaps.github.io repository to be deployed later.

For the download buttons images, we can obtain them directly from the source as SVGs:

App Store: https://developer.apple.com/app-store/marketing/guidelines/

Play Store: https://partnermarketinghub.withgoogle.com/brands/google-play/visual-identity/badge-guidelines/

F-Droid: https://gitlab.com/fdroid/artwork/-/tree/master/badge/

For the Exodus Privacy Project screenshot, we can open the link https://reports.exodus-privacy.eu.org/en/reports/app.organicmaps/latest/ select the desired language from top right, and take a new screenshot. Unfortunately, not all languages are available.

For TrackerControl on iOS, website is only available in English.

If Organic Maps decides to include these in the translations page, I strongly recommend adding a note: "Do not translate or edit the screenshots" for the last two links above, as translations might not be what they stated exactly.

Any thoughts?

Regards.

Research direction

Start by reviewing the website repository's existing translated pages and image assets, then compare the current English screenshots and badges with the requested language coverage. Retake or obtain replacement images using the Android app and the linked source pages, preserving the stated restrictions for Exodus Privacy and TrackerControl. Done means adding the available localized assets in a pull request for deployment.
