Description
Makefile is often used as a generic build tool. In fact, Macaron itself uses Makefile to generate artifacts. We already have support for a number of build tools.
To support Makefile
- we need to add a parser for
Makefileto extract shell commands, similar to our bashparser. - add a new module for
makesimilar to other build tools.

Research direction
Start by reading src/macaron/parsers/bashparser.py and the existing modules under src/macaron/slsa_analyzer/build_tool. Compare how parsers extract shell commands and how build-tool modules are structured. Done means Makefile parsing and make build-tool support are added consistently with the existing implementations.
