Description
Package Name
pbr
Maintainer
@stangri
OpenWrt Version
24.10.2
OpenWrt Target/Subtarget
x86/x64
Steps to Reproduce
Backround;
I am using PBR to bypass a wireguard VPN which worked in rev32 but after a reboot of openwrt i would need to restart the pbr service to be able to bypass the VPN. This created another problem as PBR was using the VPN's DNS and that prevented me from reaching sites like google and reddit who seem to have some sort of blocking going on. So to circumven the issue, I added the device to the DNS policies in PBR. The acheived exactly the result I was after. Bypass the VPN and use the ISP config to connect to the internet. The exception was that I would need to reboot PBR anytime I rebooted the openwrt/router.
Now in r34 the rebooting is no longer necessary for the vpn to be bypassed but the DNS entires seem ignored and can no longer connect to google even if I restart PBR.
Please let me know if you need further details. for now I've gone back to r32 and will just remember to restart PBR after a reboot.

Research direction
No source files or tests are named. Reproduce on OpenWrt 24.10.2 x86/x64 by comparing pbr revisions 32 and 34 with the listed WireGuard bypass and DNS-policy setup, including behavior after reboot and service restart; done means the DNS policy entries are honored without restarting pbr.
