Description

Installing or starting watchcat gives following error:

opkg install watchcat
Installing watchcat (1-17) to root...
Downloading https://downloads.openwrt.org/releases/22.03-SNAPSHOT/packages/powerpc_8540/packages/watchcat_1-17_all.ipk
Configuring watchcat.
sh: 6h: bad number
/etc/rc.common: eval: line 64: arithmetic syntax erro

I only see this on TP-Link WDR4900. (OpenWrt 22.03)

Research direction

Start by reproducing the watchcat installation or startup command on the TP-Link WDR4900 with OpenWrt 22.03, then trace the watchcat startup path and the /etc/rc.common arithmetic error. Done means watchcat installs and starts on powerpc_8540 without the reported “6h: bad number” or arithmetic syntax error.
