Description
Maintainer: @flyn-org
Description: If snort crashes on /etc/init.d/snort start the daemon still appears to be running when calling it with the status token. That is not right.
Example (I introduced an error in my config so snort failed its initialization check and quit):
# /etc/init.d/snort start
# pidof snort
#
# /etc/init.d/snort status
running

Research direction
Locate the OpenWrt package init script at /etc/init.d/snort and reproduce the failure with an invalid Snort configuration. Check the start and status behavior after initialization fails, then verify that status no longer reports running when pidof snort returns nothing.
