Start with related issue #15628, then reproduce the failure by loading kmod-rtl8812au and running rmmod on the listed OpenWrt 5.4.179 setup. Use the kernel trace and rtl8812au module paths to locate the unload failure; done means removing the module no longer causes a kernel panic.
