Description
#360
Same poor performance problem on Netgear R6800(MT7621+2xMT7615).
Strangely, every time I flash the router, with not setting WLAN's encryption configs (changing SSID is ok), it seems to work well. But if I set WLAN's configs and click the 'Save & Apply' button, they won't be applied, SSID and encryption remain untouched. If you click the 'Save & Apply' button for the second time, they'll be applied, and the poor performance problem appears.
5G with 80Mhz only has the actual 54Mpbs speed (given by the windows) and seems only works on 802.11a. But the weirdest thing is while the download speed is around 5MB, the upload speed is up to 30MB.

Research direction
Start by reviewing issue #360 and reproducing the reported behavior on a Netgear R6800 with MT7621 and two MT7615 radios. Test the first and second “Save & Apply” actions, then compare 5 GHz 80 MHz download and upload performance. Done means the configuration applies consistently and the reported performance problem is resolved.
