Description

I've noticed that all the firewall4 entries except for link-local use iifname/oifname which does a string comparison and is resource intensive. Wouldn't it be possible for firewall4 to use iif/oif exclusively given that it reloads automatically on any interface change?

Research direction

No files or tests are named. Start by locating firewall4's generated entries that use iifname/oifname and reviewing how interface changes trigger reloads. Determine whether iif/oif can replace those matches while preserving behavior for non-link-local traffic; done means the scope and compatibility of the change are established.
