Description
I can't find a way to use variables for integer fields like wifi channels.
Either it is non-conforming json or it doesn't fit the schema.

Research direction
No files or tests are named. Start by tracing NetJSON configuration validation and schema handling for integer fields such as WiFi channels, then determine how variable values are represented there; done means variables are accepted across the intended fields without making the configuration non-conforming JSON or invalid against its schema.
