Description
We have two versions of dmg2john (a .py and a binary) for good and hopefully even documented reasons (I'm really not sure about it being documented at all though, just mentioned on ML's) - but I recently noticed we also have two versions of aix2john (.pl and .py) and I can't recall any reason for that. Git log didn't explain it. Perhaps some search here or in the ML's can explain it, or perhaps it's simply an amnesia collision in space-time.

Research direction
Compare the two aix2john entry points, aix2john.pl and aix2john.py, and inspect the git history for both. Search the project or referenced mailing-list discussions for the reason both exist. Done means the duplication has a documented rationale or a clear decision about which version should remain.
