Description

Hello OpenVINO / Open Model Zoo team,

I am evaluating the following pretrained models for inclusion in a paid commercial desktop application that performs inference locally and offline:

  • person-reidentification-retail-0287
  • person-reidentification-retail-0288

I understand that the Intel pretrained models in Open Model Zoo are distributed under the Apache License 2.0.

Could you please clarify:

  1. Were the training datasets used for these two pretrained weights collected or licensed in a way that permits commercial redistribution of the resulting models?

  2. May the original .xml / .bin model files be bundled and redistributed directly to end users as part of a paid commercial desktop application, provided required license notices are included?

  3. Is this redistribution right perpetual and royalty-free, with no separate commercial license, subscription, online license server, or recurring authorization required?

Thank you.

Research direction

Review the provenance and licensing information for person-reidentification-retail-0287 and person-reidentification-retail-0288, including their original .xml and .bin files. Determine whether the training data and model files permit the requested commercial redistribution, then document answers to the three licensing questions in the issue.
