Description
See https://github.com/coreos/coreos-assembler/pull/3153#discussion_r1010438142
Basically, we should rework oc adm release new to natively search for ostree-container images, instead of having this machine-os thing. Further, I think we should suppport multiple in the release image.
Then we can drop the OCP-specific metadata on the container.

Research direction
Start with the linked coreos-assembler pull request discussion and inspect the current oc adm release new behavior around machine-os metadata. Done means the command natively searches for ostree-container images, supports multiple operating-system images in a release, and allows the OCP-specific container metadata to be removed.
