Description

What solution would you like?
In arithmetic or numeric comparisons, STRING may be implicitly cast to a numeric type if its contents are parseable, otherwise null. e.g. If the other side is integer/long → cast STRING to DOUBLE

Research direction

The issue does not name any implementation files, tests, or entry points. Start by locating the SQL type-conversion and numeric comparison logic, then review existing conversion behavior and tests; done means the requested implicit STRING-to-numeric behavior is defined and covered for parseable and unparseable values.
