Description

Hello!
I've installed the openresty for centos 7 from the binaries at https://openresty.org/package/centos/7/x86_64/. I need the upstream healthcheck module (resty.upstream.healthcheck). But the following error occurs:

2021/01/20 13:20:35 [error] 18634#18634: init_worker_by_lua error: /usr/local/openresty/lualib/resty/upstream/healthcheck.lua:27: ngx_lua 0.9.5+ required
stack traceback:
        [C]: in function 'error'
        /usr/local/openresty/lualib/resty/upstream/healthcheck.lua:27: in main chunk
        [C]: in function 'require'
        init_worker_by_lua:3: in main chunk

which clearly states that there're problems with ngx_lua version.
When I output the version (error(ngx.config.ngx_lua_version)) I'm getting the number "9", that's it. If I comment out the check for the version library at resty/upstream/healthcheck.lua I get another error - ngx_upstream_lua module required.

openresty -V gives me

Looks like I'm supposed to have the required modules but for some reasons I don't. Are there any ideas on what I did wrong? Thank you!

Research direction

Start with the error path in /usr/local/openresty/lualib/resty/upstream/healthcheck.lua at line 27, then compare ngx.config.ngx_lua_version and the modules listed by openresty -V. Trace the init_worker_by_lua require path and verify how ngx_upstream_lua is detected. Done means identifying the binary or module mismatch and documenting a reproducible correction.
