Description
Sometimes lua code has a bug and can run forever. What's the right way to limit the execution time of a lua code embedded in openresty? I didn't see a way to do it, so I'm filing an issue for adding such variable to limit it. (Please correct me if I'm wrong!)

Research direction
Issue #770 asks how to limit execution time for Lua code embedded in x_by_lua* handlers and proposes adding a variable. Start by investigating the x_by_lua* execution path and whether an existing mechanism applies; completion would require a decided approach for limiting runaway code, with the relevant behavior verified.
