Description

As we know ngx.shared.DICT values can have TTL. And there is ngx.shared.DICT.flush_expired method which deletes expired values from the dictionary.

My question is do I need run this method by hand from time to time or expired items is deleted by some automatic timer or something?

Research direction

Start with the ngx.shared.DICT TTL and flush_expired documentation and the related implementation entry point. Confirm whether expired entries are removed automatically or require an explicit call, then document the lifecycle clearly; done means the question is answered for users.
