Description

I want to achieve dynamic upstream with lua-nginx-module【lua balancer】by lua ,but without the nginx upstream module;of course, I will achieve health check by lua also。 Now, I have a difficulty about upstream max_falis, Please, can you achieve the upstream max_falis in lua-nginx-module ? And, btw, why not achieve the upstream max_falis in lua-nginx-module? What's your considerations?

thanks~

Research direction

Start with the lua balancer and compare its requested behavior with upstream max_fails and lua-upstream-nginx-module, all mentioned in the issue. The payload names no files or tests; done means defining and implementing compatible failure-count behavior without that upstream module, with Lua-based health checks still possible.
