Description

I am having issues playing video files in openFrameworks. I am using Visual Studio 2015, OF v.0.9.8, Windows 10 and have downloaded the K-Lite 12.1.0 codec pack. I have tried playing .mov, .mp4, and .avi video files and they all play back very choppy. My code is just a simple video player similar to the tutorial on this page: http://openframeworks.cc/learning/03_video/how_to_load_and_play_a_video/

My laptop is a late 2016 Razer Blade and has Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 as well as NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060. Any thoughts on what could be causing the issue? I think it has to be some sort of configuration error.

Research direction

Start with the linked video-player tutorial and reproduce the report using Visual Studio 2015, OF 0.9.8, Windows 10, K-Lite 12.1.0, and the listed .mov, .mp4, and .avi files. Determine whether the choppy playback is caused by configuration or the video-player implementation, then document a confirmed fix or next diagnostic step.
