Description
In writing my mondo-all-examples app, I noticed there are a few examples that are just boring/non-sexy compared to the rest:
- threadExample
- eventsExample
- conversionExample
- advancedExample
- advancedGlExample
Perhaps they could be updated to both more instructive and fun to play with.

Research direction
Start by locating threadExample, eventsExample, conversionExample, advancedExample, and advancedGlExample in the mondo-all-examples app and reviewing how they currently work. Done means the named examples are updated to be more instructive and more engaging to play with; the issue does not specify particular designs or tests.
