Earliest Open edX Named Release With Breaking Changes

Deprecated but available (via opt-out) in Teak. Will be missing new Content Libraries features.

Full removal by Verawood.

Rationale

Maintaining the legacy unit page and the React-based unit page in tandem is a major burden for maintenance and feature development.

Removal

We will remove the legacy Django-rendered Studio unit editor defined in edx-platform.

This bug is a blocker:

Removing the legacy unit editor will also effectively remove access to the "big three" legacy component editors, so deprecation must be unblocked for each of those before we can proceed with removal of the unit editor (UPDATE: This will be done by 14 Dec 2025):

Replacement

The new React-based Studio unit editor in frontend-app-course-authoring.
