Description

The new app on the Android platform has a significant issue where the Chrome-cast icon is missing, unlike in the old app. This issue prevents users from casting videos on their devices, negatively impacting the user experience. The old app includes a visible and functional Chrome-cast icon, allowing seamless video casting.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Login to the new app
  • Load any course with native videos
  • Now connect the chrome-cast device
  • After connecting the chrome-cast load the video
  • Notice there will be no chrome-cast icon

Expected Behaviour:
After connecting the chrome-cast the native video should have a chrome-cast icon to cast a video

Research direction

No files, tests, or entry points are named. Start by reproducing the issue through the listed login, course, device-connection, and video steps, then trace the Android app's native video and casting entry points; it is done when the Chromecast icon appears and allows casting after the device connects.
