Description

After discussing https://github.com/openedx/paragon/issues/2619 in the Paragon working group, it was decided that the best place to document best practices for using React Testing Library to test frontend code within the Open edX project would be in a developer how-to.

  1. Read the whole issue, then the project's contributing guide.
  2. Comment on the issue to say you are picking it up — it saves two people doing the same work.
  3. Fork the repository and make your change on a branch.
  4. Open a pull request that references the issue number.

Research direction

Review the discussion in openedx/paragon#2619 and the existing developer documentation to identify the expected React Testing Library practices for frontend code. Done means adding a developer how-to that clearly documents those agreed best practices for Open edX contributors.
