Description

Expected behaviour

I want to install this package by conda install ..., for better dependencies management.

Due to pylance #2044, vscode cannot enable auto-complete or other lsp features if I use cv2 installed from conda install opencv but installed from pip install opencv-python. And I need this package could be exported by conda env export.

Actual behaviour

This package seems not to be included in list of conda packages.

Steps to reproduce

conda install opencv-python, and it is expected to return PackagesNotFoundError.

Issue submission checklist
  • This is not a generic OpenCV usage question (looking for help for coding, other usage questions, homework etc.)
  • I have read the README of this repository and understand that this repository provides only an automated build toolchain for OpenCV Python packages (there is no actual OpenCV code here)
  • The issue is related to the build scripts in this repository, to the pre-built binaries or is a feature request (such as "please enable this additional dependency")
  • I'm using the latest version of opencv-python

Research direction

Start with the repository README and its build scripts to understand how the Python packages are produced and where a conda distribution could fit. Check the existing package outputs and build entry points, then define the conda packaging path. Done means the package can be installed with conda and is included by conda environment export.
