Description

What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

26.915.31945

What subscription do you have?

ChatGPT Pro

What platform is your computer?

Linux 7.2.6-1-cachyos-bore x86_64 unknown

What issue are you seeing?

After renaming a chat session, the app becomes unresponsive for several seconds. During this pause, scrolling and other UI interactions do not respond.

I also tested with --ozone-platform=x11 and --disable-gpu, but the issue persisted.

What steps can reproduce the bug?
  1. Open the desktop app on CachyOS Linux in a Hyprland Wayland session.
  2. Rename an existing chat session and confirm the new name.
  3. Immediately try scrolling or interacting with the app.
  4. Observe that the interface is unresponsive for several seconds.
What is the expected behavior?

Renaming a chat should update its title without blocking scrolling or other UI interactions.

Research direction

Reproduce the pause in the Codex desktop app on CachyOS Linux under Hyprland Wayland by renaming a chat and immediately scrolling. Compare the Wayland, X11, and --disable-gpu launches described in the report; done means renaming updates the title without blocking scrolling or other interactions.
