What platform is your computer?
Windows 11 x64
What issue are you seeing?
I am experiencing an issue with the ChatGPT Windows app installed from Microsoft Store.
In the Projects feature, the app can create the first Work successfully, but it cannot create a second Work inside the same Project.
The issue occurs in both existing Projects and newly created Projects.
Details:
- The first Work in a Project can be created and used normally.
- When I try to create a second Work, the creation fails.
- The same account can create multiple Works normally in the web version.
- Normal chats in the Windows app work correctly.
Before this issue appeared, I performed the following actions:
- I terminated a Work.
- I accidentally handled a branched chat and archived it.
After that, I noticed issues related to local chat/Project functionality.
I have tried:
- Restarting the app.
- Repairing and resetting the Windows app.
- Uninstalling and reinstalling the app from Microsoft Store.
- Logging out and logging back in.
The issue still persists.
What steps can reproduce the bug?

Additional information
Additional observations:
- This problem is not limited to one Project. Newly created Projects show the same behavior.
- The web version works correctly with the same account and can create multiple Works.
- The issue appears to be specific to the Windows desktop app.
Timeline:
- I first noticed the issue around Wednesday night (around 00:00 Thursday).
- The ChatGPT app update notifications had appeared before this issue, but I am not sure whether the issue is related to an update.
Other details:
- Before the issue appeared, I terminated a Work and archived a branched chat.
- I cannot confirm whether these actions caused the issue, but they may be relevant for debugging.
The issue remains after reinstalling, repairing and resetting the application.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the failure in the Windows app using the Projects and Work flow described, then use feedback ID no-active-thread-01a0b983-a520-7df3-88df-c2df99c9fe14 for investigation. Compare behavior with the web version and verify that a second Work can be created in both existing and newly created Projects without affecting normal chats.
